Things I needed to know

If you piled up all the ants that you find in all the forest habitats in the world and put them in one big pile, they would weigh more than all the humans combined.

Eating Disorders in military:

*According to research studies conducted on military personnel, prevalence of disordered eating patterns is higher for both males and females than in the general population.

Why:
Weight standard requirements

Emphasis on physical fitness

Weigh-ins

Emphasis on physical appearance

MedCommand has prepared an entire presentation on the subject. Very interesting and Very true.

I really wish they would get things up to speed in the Army. I think the PT routines are atrociously out of date. When my dad was in the Airforce, he was almost hospitalized after starving himself to meet the weight requirements. He happened to be tall (6'2") and they wouldn't adjust his weight requirement to meet his height. Ugh.
