a note about Blake
From his dad:
Greeting Faithful Prayer Warriors and Friends,
On the eve of our observance of Christ’s resurrection I would like to give you some miraculous news concerning Blake’s continued recovery after his bone marrow transplant. Just yesterday we were told that his white blood cell count was at 5.5 which is an important milestone because the means he is no longer considered to be at high risk for infection. Then early this morning his count was at about 8.0 and by this afternoon it had climbed to 11.0 which is considered normal – what an incredible answer to prayer. That means that the stem cells have in-grafted very well and are doing an outstanding job in making white blood cells.
Also, this morning, Blake himself turned a corner in that he seemed to come out of a kind of mental fog and declared that he was ready to get up and start taking care of himself again. We have been praying for this and thought it would come on gradually but seemed to take a giant step in the right direction. So now we need your prayers to focus on getting Blake prepared to get out of the hospital. We will likely find him a place to stay that is close to the hospital for the first two weeks and then we hope that we can get a referral for a doctor in the Springs so that we can go ahead and get him home!
Life is a precious gift and as you celebrate the resurrection of Christ this Easter, please be grateful for the promise of a life beyond this life that was secured the day Jesus walked out of the tomb alive. It would make no ultimate difference at all if Blake could have his life extended on this earth if he was not sure of his eternal life in heaven.
Thanks for praying and now for celebrating with us each step Blake takes toward his recovery and cure from cancer!
