I did it.
I bought a Stand Up Paddle Board. I used nearly all of my employee recognition points and made the purchase.
I went to the
Cochiti Dam.
It is Labor Day weekend and I expected it to be crowded and it was not.
It was perfect. I parked by one of the Boat Ramps and there were maybe 15 cars parked and maybe 20 people on the shore.
It is not luxurious or beachy but it did have some picnic tables and a smidge of shade.
This was too easy and all to satisfying. I will be back. It took me about 45 minutes to get there. Everyone warned me to not speed through the Pueblos. I did not see any Reservation Police.
It is open through October so I hope to get there a few more times.
