I want to like it...

Just starting Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD

I really want to like this book, I have heard many accolades and recommendations.  It was released in 2009 and made a resurgence lately.

Human beings are connected to one another and to our ancestors.

Intuition...

Feminine...

Mothers to Daughters

A wise old woman, I miss my wise mom that carried knowledge I missed to carry.

Tom Yum

Our favorite is Tom Yum Thai Soup. The more mushrooms, cilantro, tomatoes, and onions the better.
I was trying to think of all the places I have had it in Hawaii, Colorado, New Mexico, Ohio, Kansas, Michigan, Georgia... probably more.. Medium Spicy and this week  had Thai sticky rice with it.
This week was Glenwood Springs, CO with old and new friends. Celebration meal from the snow shoe trip. Just what we needed.

Apparently,  I ate it before I deployed for Iraq.
We ate Thai a lot as a family and still do.
The smells and tastes all remind me of that.

delicious

I really enjoyed reading Life without a Recipe.  A memoir
It is a memoir written by Diana Abu-Jaber.
The story is beautiful - her memoir about love, loss, travel, relationships and grief.
And of course how food is wrapped into so much of everything that means so much to us.
Her last few chapters that speak about grief really made me think about some of the struggles I have had and the so suddenness of death and what is left behind.

15 Years

Fifteen years have passed.
It seems like yesterday. It also seems like a long time ago.
I can use the same words from 2008
