harmony

harmony
noun the quality of forming a pleasing and consistent whole.

Tonight I am watching Call the Midwife and doing homework. For me it is harmonious.
I love this show and I enjoy learning and research.
I am ok student on some subjects. Research Methods is one of the one's I wish could do without but you cannot go further without it. I am making progress on some things I care about. I am encouraged.

MAT to mat

Getting back on the MAT.
Last week I left the MAT and one of the most important things I know I needed to do
is get back on to my yoga mat. I got home Friday morning and gazed at the schedule online.
I wanted to go but I was hesitant.
I was ready but not ready.
On Monday morning I checked in for class and found my self situated in the studio.
I felt nervously comfortable. The familiarity of the practice felt great.
But I was wobbly and my knee was sneaking forward in front of the other.
I completely forgot the how to do side twist but the instructor was gracious and loving.
....
no judging as much as I was judging myself no one in the room was judging me.
After class I confessed out loud that this is was my first guided practice in 9 months.
I know this is where I belong and more importantly this is where I find peace.
The other practices this week have been slightly less shakey but the shake is still there.
Thank goodness child pose is always available and the welcoming atmosphere of peace and love.
Glad to be back on the mat.

OK – Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
It took me awhile to get on the bandwagon and the first third of the book I put down at least five times.
But I picked it back this week while on business travel and finished it. It is good!
I will read book two and check out the movie when I get a chance.

This business trip has been refreshing – I feel slightly more strategic about my job and decisions to stay, visited great people I have worked with for years and miss dearly, a quick trip to Trader Joe’s and a little a peace.
Watched frivolous TV on Showtime and Fox News. No regrets about tv at home but it was nice to veg out.
Obviously, I am carrying this constant struggle to figure things out. Big things, little things and stupid things. arggghh....

Hoping the weather is warm this weekend so I walk some of that out this weekend and take in the missed yoga of the week.

No comments from the skeptics..

If these warriors are finding peace – that is peace in my book.

Yoga for me serves two purposes – makes me stronger and allows me to set aside uninterrupted time with hopefully not a lot of mind chattersome call that peace.
